A novel [Mn(L2)2Cl2] complex with Schiff base 4-((3-ethoxy-2-hydroxybenzylidene) amino)-N-(pyridin-2-yl)benzenesulfonamide (L2) has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, magnetic moment, conductivity measurement, IR, electronic, powder XRD and EI mass spectra. In the present work it has been found that the azomethine nitrogen atom and phenolic oxygen atom of the Schiff base take part in coordination. The [Mn(L2)2Cl2] complex has been screened for in vitro antimicrobial activities.
